A premium piece of wearable history from the tail-end of the North American gold rush eras. This stunning shaker pendant features a dual-convex glass capsule. Free-floating inside the capsule is a heavy, beautiful cluster of highly pure, dimensional, natural river placer gold nuggets (picker-sized).
Suspended from its original 1920s hardware, this pendant is an exceptional find for collectors of Klondike/Yukon history, Western frontier memorabilia, and fine Art Deco jewelry.
- The Gold Nuggets: Contains a substantial cluster of genuine, raw, loose placer gold nuggets (not flat gold leaf or fine dust). These are true three-dimensional "pickers" showing organic water-worn crevices and pits, typical of 20K–22K frontier river gold. XRF tested at 20K. Estimated nugget weight 0.85g
- The Hardware & Chain: The pendant is hung from its authentic 1920s utility chain and swivel dog-clip watch clasp. The clasp features the highly collectible maker’s stamp "K and S" (Kender & Stokes, Birmingham, UK).
- Dimensions: Pendant-19.8mm, Drop length 60mm
- Composition: Metal elements are period-correct gold-filled components, designed for durability. The moving clasp features its original internal base-metal hinge pin, a standard period engineering practice to ensure mechanical strength.
Condition: Very good antique condition. The frame is structurally sound with an elegant, warm creamy patina, no cracks but has a couple small imperfections on the front side. The double-sided glass capsule remains clear and securely sealed, ensuring the natural gold nuggets shake freely and beautifully with movement. The K&S clasp mechanism is fully functional and spring-snaps tight.
